About Hope House Inc

Hope House is a nonprofit treatment center in Augusta, Georgia, serving women and their children who are dealing with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions. For more than three decades, they have focused on helping families break the linked cycles of addiction, untreated mental illness, and poverty, with the goal of long-term self-sufficiency. They are the only licensed and accredited residential program of their kind for women and children in Augusta-Richmond County, and they have held Council on Accreditation (COA) accreditation since 2006. Care is offered at both residential and intensive outpatient levels, along with lighter outpatient options for women who need less structure as they progress.

Women in residential treatment live in individual apartments, and on-site childcare means mothers can stay with their children while they work on recovery. A dedicated Pregnant and Postpartum Program and Plan of Safe Care services support expecting and new mothers, focusing on the health and stability of both parent and baby. Alongside evidence-based treatment for substance use and mental health, they provide parenting education and counseling, life skills training such as job readiness and financial education, and help connecting with medical and psychiatric care. As women prepare to live on their own, transitional housing assistance can cover up to six months of rent and utilities.
