About Hope House Inc

Hope House Addiction Services is a substance use treatment provider in Roxbury, Massachusetts, for people facing substance use disorders, often alongside mental health conditions. Their care is personalized and grounded in science, with an emphasis on building hope and recognizing each step of progress. They offer residential treatment, outpatient substance use and mental health treatment, and aftercare. Their outpatient program is designed specifically for men living with a substance use disorder.

Every patient builds an individualized plan that covers substance use and mental health goals, along with practical needs like medical care, food security, employment, education, relationships, and housing, with referrals to affiliated community providers when needed. Discharge planning starts at the beginning of treatment, and eligible patients may move into Zach’s Place, their graduate house, or into single room occupancy housing. Through their Center for Innovation in Community Addiction Medicine, clients can try neurofeedback-assisted meditation using portable EEG headbands, trauma-informed Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes at partner gyms, and other somatic and movement-based therapies, while staff track mood, PTSD symptoms, sleep, and quality of life. This work focuses on people who have often been underserved, including those with dual diagnoses, formerly incarcerated individuals, people experiencing housing instability, and racial, ethnic, gender, and LGBTQ+ minorities.
