About Hennepin Home Healthcare
Hennepin Home Healthcare is a Minneapolis-area provider with more than 50 years in home health and community mental health services. They expanded into substance use treatment and earned their 245G license in September 2023, offering services through their sister program, Recovery Health Solutions. They work with adults 18 and older facing substance use disorders, mental illness, or both, and they treat these conditions together without shame. Their care includes an intensive outpatient program, one-on-one counseling with a licensed drug and alcohol counselor, recovery coaching, and Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS), all within a harm reduction model that accepts paths other than the 12 steps.
The intensive outpatient group meets Monday through Thursday, with a morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and an afternoon session from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Groups follow a 182-page curriculum that draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), relapse prevention, trauma-informed education, and somatic nervous system regulation, using discussion, videos, journaling, and hands-on activities. Enrollment is rolling, so new clients can start at any chapter after a brief individual orientation, and many join as a step-down after residential treatment. Recovery coaches, many with lived experience, meet clients in their homes and communities to help with goal setting, rebuilding relationships, sober activities, housing, employment, and connections to other resources, and clinical staff are available when more support is needed.
