About Helper Clinic

Helper Clinic is one of several Carbon Medical Service locations in Utah’s Carbon and Emery County area, offering primary care alongside behavioral health and addiction services. Carbon Medical has served the region since 1952, when they started as a small clinic in Dragerton, and they now run sites in Helper, Sunnyside, Price, and Huntington. For substance use, their focus is outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol dependence, delivered within the same system that handles everyday medical, dental, and preventive care. The Helper Clinic also has an on-site pharmacy, which can make it easier to pick up prescribed medications.

Their MAT program pairs FDA-approved medications, including buprenorphine and naltrexone, with counseling and behavioral therapies to ease cravings and withdrawal. Each patient gets an individualized plan, and mental health care is built in to address the issues that often drive substance use. Within their broader behavioral health services, they offer individual therapy, family and relationship therapy, substance abuse and peer support services, and specialized group and identity support. Because primary care, lab testing, and specialty referrals all sit under one roof, people in recovery can have their physical and mental health needs coordinated in one place.
