About Harbor Houses of Jackson Inc

Harbor House of Jackson is a chemical dependency treatment provider in the Byram area just south of Jackson, Mississippi, offering residential treatment for adults with substance use disorders. They run separate residential units for men, women, and Veterans, with 70 beds in total. They treat addiction as a chronic disease and pair a strong 12-Step foundation with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for people struggling with opioids such as heroin, fentanyl, and prescription painkillers. Their view on MAT is practical: keeping someone alive long enough to choose their own path in recovery comes first.

In residential care, certified and licensed counselors lead individual, group, and family therapy using approaches such as Twelve-Step Facilitation, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and Living in Balance, and residents attend both in-house and community AA and NA meetings. The MAT program is overseen by Medical Director Dr. Randy Easterling, a board-certified addiction medicine physician, and uses only FDA-approved medications alongside counseling to ease cravings and lower overdose risk. Before leaving residential treatment, each client builds a personal recovery plan with a Certified Peer Support Specialist, setting goals around work, family, education, or social life. That plan carries into a weekly peer-led Recovery Support Services group, which is open to residential and MAT clients as well as people who completed treatment elsewhere.
