About Harbor House
Harbor House is an Arkansas behavioral health agency offering addiction treatment for men and women, with residential, transitional living, and outpatient programs based in Fort Smith and Hot Springs. They take a whole-person approach that attends to body, mind, and spirit, and they support recovery through multiple pathways of care. Their continuum begins with observational, non-medical detox and moves into non-medical residential treatment that also addresses co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. Outpatient care is available both in person and by telehealth through Harbor Behavioral Health.
Residential programs run 30, 60, or 90 days and are largely gender-specific, with Harbor Recovery Center serving men, Gateway Recovery Center serving women, and a co-ed program in Hot Springs. Specialized Women’s Services are designed for pregnant women and mothers with their children. Clients who finish residential care at a Harbor House facility can move into transitional living homes for men, women, or women in the specialized program. Beyond substance use, they offer outpatient help for PTSD, bipolar disorder, gambling, eating disorders, and smoking cessation, along with classes in anger management, parenting, domestic violence for both perpetrators and victims, theft deterrence, and DWI/DUI, plus aftercare support, assistance applying for insurance, and phone instructions in Spanish.
