About Harbor Hall
Harbor Hall is a nonprofit addiction treatment provider in Petoskey, Michigan, that has served Northern Michigan since 1974, with an additional outpatient office in Cheboygan. They view substance use disorders as affecting the whole person, including behavior, values, beliefs, and emotional regulation, and they work toward abstinence while also addressing co-occurring physical and mental health concerns. Their continuum of care includes withdrawal management with 24-hour supervision, residential treatment for men and women, outpatient services, and a low-cost transitional living facility for people who aren’t yet ready to return to independent living. They accept most commercial insurance, Medicaid, and self-pay, and a local community foundation helps outpatient clients cover co-pays.
Therapy combines individual and group counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and family therapy, delivered by clinicians certified through the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals. Residential clients build relapse prevention and decision-making skills, take part in recreation and community service with local partners such as Camp Daggett, and can explore spirituality in an open-minded, non-faith-based setting. Outpatient options include office-based opioid treatment, women-specific and gender-specific groups, trauma-informed care, adolescent services, couples and family counseling, Prime for Life early intervention, and a recovery program for health professionals. They also provide forensic and driver’s license assessments, walk-in drug testing, and coordination with probation, parole, courts, and other agencies when clients consent.
