Hamilton Center Inc is a not-for-profit behavioral health system with an Indianapolis location among its offices across central and west central Indiana, and they have served the region since 1971. They view substance use disorders as long-term illnesses, similar to asthma or diabetes, and they build individualized, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment plans around each person’s needs and strengths. Outpatient addiction care is available in every community they serve, while residential and inpatient services are based in Terre Haute. Admission is prioritized for pregnant women and people who use intravenous drugs, and staff help connect mothers and children to prenatal care, child care, transportation, and related support.

Counseling is offered in individual and group formats using Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and relapse prevention training. Hamilton Center was the first certified Matrix Model site in Indiana, offering a 16-week intensive outpatient program that combines early recovery and relapse prevention groups, family education, 12-step facilitation, drug monitoring, and individual sessions. Medication-assisted treatment with Vivitrol, Suboxone, or methadone is paired with counseling, and their affiliated WIN Recovery program provides state-certified opioid treatment in several counties. Additional support includes care managers who help with benefits, housing, and court coordination, Certified Recovery Specialists with lived experience, 90-day transitional living in Vigo County, gambling addiction counseling, and a sliding fee scale so that no one is turned away for inability to pay.
