About Hamilton Center Inc
Hamilton Center is a not-for-profit behavioral health system based in Terre Haute, Indiana, serving central and west central Indiana since 1971 with mental health, addiction, and primary care services. They treat substance use disorders and gambling addiction as long-term illnesses, building individualized, trauma-informed treatment plans around each person’s needs and strengths. Outpatient addiction care is available in every community they serve, while residential and inpatient services are based in Terre Haute. Pregnant women and people who use intravenous drugs receive priority access, and staff help connect mothers and children with prenatal care, child care, transportation, and other support.
Individual and group therapy draw on Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and relapse prevention training. Hamilton Center was the first certified Matrix Model site in Indiana, offering a 16-week intensive outpatient program that combines early recovery and relapse prevention groups, family education, 12-step facilitation, drug monitoring, and individual counseling. Medication-assisted treatment with Vivitrol, Suboxone, or methadone is available, including daily dosing through their state-certified opioid treatment program, WIN Recovery. Other supports include 90-day transitional living in Vigo County, peer support from Certified Recovery Specialists, case management for benefits and court coordination, and a sliding fee scale that ensures no one is turned away for inability to pay.
