About Gulf Bend Center

Gulf Bend Center is a regional behavioral health provider based in Victoria, Texas, serving Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Jackson, Refugio, Lavaca, and Victoria Counties with mental health, intellectual and developmental disability, and substance use services. Their substance use program is outpatient and built around a holistic view of recovery, with each person’s plan shaped by their own goals and needs. Adolescents and adults who meet diagnostic criteria for a substance use disorder and can stay sober without a more structured setting are eligible, and no one in the service area is turned away because of their address or inability to pay. Those who need a higher level of care are referred to inpatient and rehabilitation facilities.

Care is delivered by an interdisciplinary team that includes doctors, nurses, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, peer recovery coaches, and case managers. Depending on the person, treatment can involve medication-assisted treatment with ongoing medication monitoring, individual and group counseling, education about substance use disorders, and coordination with outside providers. Family members and other supporters are welcome to take part, and staff help connect clients and their loved ones with community resources. Because Gulf Bend also offers adult and youth mental health care, crisis intervention, veterans services, and a 24-hour crisis hotline, people dealing with both addiction and mental health concerns can find much of their support under one roof.
