About Great Lakes Recovery Centers Inc
Great Lakes Recovery Centers is a nonprofit, CARF-accredited behavioral health organization serving Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, including an integrated care clinic in Sault Ste. Marie. They view substance use disorder as a disease that affects individuals, families, and whole communities, and they recognize multiple pathways to recovery. They treat substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders in adults, adolescents, and children through outpatient care, adult and adolescent residential treatment, and recovery housing, with referrals to detox when needed. Every client starts with a screening and assessment through a central Access Center, and services are open to people with limited financial resources.
Outpatient care combines individual and group counseling with medication-assisted treatment from physicians and nurse practitioners. Enrolled clients can also attend clinically supervised AA- and NA-based meetings and receive care coordination for transportation, insurance, food assistance, and other practical needs, either in person or by telehealth. Additional supports include peer recovery coaching, case management for women and families in Chippewa and Marquette Counties, and counseling for veterans. Residential programs offer 24-hour supervision, on-site clinicians, and spiritual care, while the adolescent program includes daily therapy and on-site schooling, and men’s and women’s recovery residences are certified by MARR and NARR.
