About Grand Lake Mental Health Center

Grand Lake Mental Health Center, now known as GRAND Mental Health, is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic serving Stillwater and Payne County as part of a network of 34 clinics and centers across northeast and north central Oklahoma. In operation since 1979, they treat mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and gambling addiction in youth and adults, using a trauma-informed, whole-person approach that also addresses physical health, housing, and employment needs. Their addiction care spans 24/7 walk-in urgent recovery centers, medically supervised detox, 30–60 day residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, standard outpatient, and sober living. In Stillwater, they operate a Payne County urgent care recovery behavioral health clinic that opened in 2025, and no referral is needed to request services.

Much of the higher-level care takes place at the 200-bed GRAND Addiction Recovery Center on the Tulsa campus, where detox is monitored by registered nurses under an addiction medicine physician and residential counseling covers relapse prevention, coping skills, grief, anger management, and co-occurring disorders. Psychiatrists and physicians oversee medication-assisted treatment, including care for opioid dependency, and a dedicated methamphetamine program is built around group counseling with peers facing the same addiction. Intensive outpatient sessions run during the day and evening to fit around work and childcare, and certified peer recovery specialists, virtual 24/7 relapse prevention support, and the Bryce House recovery residence help people stay connected after discharge. They also offer veteran-specific services, street outreach with Narcan and fentanyl test strip distribution, and the ApexCare app for virtual visits, mood tracking, and medication management.
