About Glass House Recovery LLC
Glass House Recovery is an outpatient addiction treatment center in Old Ellicott City, Maryland, serving adults who are working through substance use alongside co-occurring mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and mood instability. Founded by clinicians, artists, and people in recovery, they see substance use as a coping strategy that eventually stopped working, so treatment focuses on what the drugs were doing for a person, including unprocessed grief, old wounds, and loneliness. They offer two levels of care: a full-day Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), both licensed in Maryland. They accept most commercial insurance, Maryland Medicaid (HealthChoice), and TRICARE, and self-pay is also an option.
The PHP gives more immersive daily structure and works well for people returning to the area after inpatient or residential care, with help for those who need a supportive living arrangement during the transition. The IOP is built for working adults, with flexible scheduling, remote support, and a virtual option, while the smaller afternoon groups lean more heavily on art therapy and experiential work. Curriculum is written in-house and pairs evidence-based therapy with creative process and frank honesty, covering topics like purpose, grief and loss, life skills, the science of drug use, repairing harm after destructive behavior, and the link between creativity and mental illness. Admission involves a short phone screen followed by an intake that is often scheduled within a few days, and they refer people elsewhere when the program is not the right fit.
