About Gateway Community Services Inc

Gateway Community Services is a nonprofit behavioral health provider in Jacksonville, Florida, that has treated adults and adolescents with alcohol and drug addiction across Northeast Florida since 1978. As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center, they bring substance use, mental health, and primary care services together under one network. Their continuum runs from prevention and detox through residential treatment, outpatient care, and transitional support. They welcome people who are uninsured or underinsured and use a financial assessment to set costs based on what each person can pay.

Their residential program follows a 12-Step model and serves adults, adolescents, and women with children, with a dedicated track for pregnant and postpartum women. Residents take part in individual and group therapy, family counseling, trauma counseling, medication management, and dual-diagnosis care, and length of stay depends on individual need. Outpatient clients choose from three levels of care at the Stockton Street campus, combining one to three groups a week with individual sessions, and evening groups are available for people with busy schedules. A walk-in intake process called Treatment Today lets adults be assessed and start outpatient groups the same day, and anyone waiting for a residential bed is encouraged to begin outpatient services in the meantime.
