About Flynn Fellowship Home of

Flynn Fellowship Home of Gastonia is a nonprofit halfway house in Gastonia, North Carolina’s historic district, serving men recovering from alcohol and substance use. Since 1966 they have offered a structured, sober place to live for men coming out of community hospitals, detox, and treatment programs who need stability before living on their own. Their program is built around the 12 Steps, accountability, and fellowship. Residents commit to a minimum stay of nine months, and the home is licensed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

During their first two to three months, new residents attend substance abuse comprehensive outpatient treatment (SACOT) or intensive outpatient programming through Achieve Behavioral Health and/or Phoenix Counseling, which provides clinical care alongside life in the house. Daily life combines counseling, regular Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and a set routine, with meals provided and an emphasis on peer support. Men are encouraged to find jobs in the community so they can save money and rebuild independence, and local employers have a long history of hiring residents. The home is led by a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is close to local medical and mental health services, including the Gaston County Health Department.
