About Field Trip Health Thunder Bay
Field Trip Health Thunder Bay is a psychedelic-assisted therapy and mental health clinic in the downtown Port Arthur area of Thunder Bay, Ontario. They pair a low-dose, legally prescribed psychedelic with structured psychotherapy, usually for adults whose symptoms have not improved enough with medication or talk therapy. Their clinicians work with depression, anxiety, PTSD and complex trauma, OCD, chronic pain, eating disorders, and substance use concerns, including alcohol and stimulant use disorders. Alongside psychedelic-assisted therapy, they offer individual therapy and pain management, and they serve a broad local community that includes Veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and Indigenous clients.
Care begins with a discovery call, an intake questionnaire, and a medical consultation to decide whether this approach fits. Clients then meet a dedicated therapist for preparation before supervised dosing sessions of two to two and a half hours, with that therapist present throughout. Integration and reassessment sessions follow, and each care team includes a prescribing clinician, a registered nurse, and a therapist. The Discovery program includes six dosing sessions, Discovery Plus adds three more along with integration sessions, and a custom option is billed per session. The treatment rooms use zero-gravity chairs, weighted blankets, noise-canceling headphones, and curated music to keep clients comfortable, and clients need to arrange another way home on dosing days.
