About FCC Behavioral Health

FCC Behavioral Health is a private, nonprofit certified community behavioral health organization serving the Van Buren area as part of a 19-county region in Southeast Missouri. They treat mental health and substance use disorders in both adolescents and adults. Their services include psychiatry, peer support, veterans’ services, individual, family, and group therapy, and family medicine. They take a whole-person, person-centered approach, building individualized plans with families, schools, and healthcare systems, and depending on the service, staff may meet people at home, in the community, at school, or in one of their facilities.

Crisis care is a major part of their work. Community Behavioral Health Liaisons help law enforcement and the courts connect people with treatment, while the Emergency Room Enhancement program offers stabilization and intensive case management to help people avoid psychiatric hospitalization. Access Crisis Intervention provides mobile, face-to-face, and telephone support for acute mental health symptoms, alcohol and drug problems, and emotional distress, and their Urgent Behavioral Health Crisis Center in Poplar Bluff offers walk-in triage and stabilization seven days a week for anyone 10 or older. They accept Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance, offer a sliding fee scale for uninsured people who qualify, and provide postvention support to communities after a suicide or other sudden loss.
