About Etowah Recovery Center

Etowah Recovery Center is a Joint Commission-accredited outpatient treatment center in the northern Atlanta area, offering care for substance use disorders alongside co-occurring mental health conditions. Their philosophy centers on the idea that people shouldn’t have to put their entire lives on hold to get well, so their programs are built to fit around work, school, and family. They offer a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) with evening options, and standard outpatient care that can be paired with supportive housing. They treat addiction to alcohol, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, prescription opioids, methamphetamine, benzodiazepines, and marijuana, as well as PTSD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, and OCD.

Every client starts with an assessment that shapes a personalized mix of therapies, which can include individual, group, and family therapy, trauma work, experiential therapy, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches. PHP runs during the day and adds medication management and psychoeducation, and most clients step down from there into IOP, where schedules are worked out individually around each person’s job and responsibilities. They also provide prescription medications to ease withdrawal symptoms. Aftercare planning is a strong focus, and an alumni program keeps graduates connected once formal treatment ends.
