About Estate at River Bend
The Estate at River Bend is a residential drug and alcohol treatment center on 108 wooded acres along the Pascagoula River in south Mississippi. They combine evidence-based clinical and medical care with 12-Step principles and take a dual diagnosis approach, treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and self-defeating personality traits alongside addiction to alcohol, opioids, heroin, meth, cocaine, benzodiazepines, marijuana, and other substances. Most clients start in the on-site medical detox before moving into a 30- to 45-day inpatient program, with medication-assisted treatment available. After residential care, clients can step down to PHP or IOP with morning and evening sessions, and they can join alumni and aftercare support groups for up to two years.
Therapy includes individual and group sessions, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, EMDR, and acceptance and integration therapy. Nature-based experiential work plays a central role, including ropes courses and adventure-based counseling, along with art, fitness, yoga, meditation, spirituality groups, and mindfulness-based stress management. Residents help cook meals and handle chores around the property so daily routines feel closer to life after treatment, and smoking cessation support is available for those who want it. For veterans and active-duty service members, the Endure program adds trauma-informed care, PTSD coping skills, a dedicated military sexual trauma track, and reintegration activities, with liaisons who coordinate VA Community Care eligibility and benefits.
