About Eleanor Health

Eleanor Health is an outpatient addiction treatment provider serving adults in Hickory and throughout North Carolina, with most care delivered by video and in-person visits available at some clinics on request. They take a harm reduction, whole-person approach that sets treatment around your own goals, which can include cutting back rather than quitting entirely. They treat opioid, alcohol, methamphetamine and other stimulant, and prescription drug use disorders, along with co-occurring anxiety, depression, and trauma. Services are open to people 18 and older, and many members start within a few days of a free intake call.

Care plans often center on medication for addiction treatment, including buprenorphine, Suboxone, naltrexone (Vivitrol), disulfiram, and acamprosate, although methadone is not prescribed. Medication is paired with individual and group therapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, plus psychiatric care and health coaching. Community Recovery Partners with lived experience offer peer support and help members find resources for housing, employment, food, and finances. Treatment has no preset end date, a relapse will not get you discharged, interpretation services are available, and insurance options include Medicaid, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.
