About Eleanor Health
Eleanor Health is an outpatient addiction treatment provider serving adults in Durham and across North Carolina. Most care happens through secure video visits, with in-person appointments available at some clinics on request. They treat opioid, alcohol, methamphetamine and other stimulant, and prescription drug use disorders, along with co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Their approach is grounded in harm reduction, so care plans are built around each person’s own goals, whether that means cutting back on drinking or stopping entirely.
Care typically starts with a medical provider who builds a personalized plan that can include medications such as buprenorphine, Suboxone, or naltrexone (Vivitrol), alongside individual and group therapy and psychiatric care. Licensed counselors use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help people manage triggers, cravings, and stress. Community Recovery Partners with lived experience offer peer support and can connect members with help finding jobs, housing, financial resources, and food. Treatment has no fixed end date, a relapse leads to an adjusted plan rather than discharge, and they accept many insurance plans, including Medicaid, and provide interpretation services and resources for families.
