About Dawn Inc

Dawn Farm (Dawn Inc) is a long-term addiction treatment provider in Ann Arbor, Michigan, built on the belief that anyone can recover when they have solid treatment and lasting connection to a recovering community. They treat addiction as a chronic condition and use an integrated continuum that lets clients move between programs as their needs change, often staying engaged for six months to two and a half years. Care starts with a social detox at the Spera Recovery Center, which averages about five days, is offered at no cost, and does not use withdrawal medications. From there, clients can step into long-term residential treatment, outpatient services, transitional housing for six months to two years, and programs tied to jail and community corrections.

Residential stays typically last three to four months, either on a 64-acre working farm in nearby Ypsilanti or in a smaller 13-bed home in downtown Ann Arbor. Clients cook, do laundry, and care for animals together, while treatment blends cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mutual aid involvement, care for co-occurring disorders, psychiatric services, art therapy, employment groups, GED preparation, and family services. Outpatient care includes assessments, case management, individual therapy, EMDR, and groups running 12 to 48 weeks, such as a Discovery group for people unsure about their substance use, a 24-week DBT group with 12-step facilitation, aftercare support, and Seeking Safety for co-occurring trauma. They are LGBTQ friendly, letting trans and nonbinary residents choose their sleeping arrangements, and they offer a sliding scale for outpatient fees.
