Crowley’s Ridge Development Council is a Jonesboro, Arkansas nonprofit serving Northeast Arkansas, and they run the Northeast Arkansas Regional Recovery Center (NEARRC), a state-licensed, CARF-accredited drug and alcohol treatment program. They treat chemical dependency as a chronic illness that affects the mind, body, and spirit as well as the people closest to the person using. They work with a wide range of substance use disorders, including alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine and crack, heroin and other opiates, benzodiazepines, and inhalants. Adult men and women can enter residential, partial day, intensive outpatient, or standard outpatient care, while adolescents of both sexes are served on an outpatient basis. Treatment can be billed to insurers such as BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, QualChoice, and Humana, and self-pay is also an option.

Residential treatment runs around the clock and combines individual counseling, group sessions and lectures, and family counseling. Placement is based on a professional evaluation and standardized screening, and referrals from the legal system are part of that process. The partial day and IOP tracks meet Monday through Friday, three to five days a week, for four to five hours of group therapy and lectures each day, with weekly individual sessions and family education available by appointment. Standard outpatient care offers flexible counseling hours for people who work, and graduates of the more intensive levels are encouraged to step down into it as aftercare. After residential treatment, men and women can move into separate Chemical Free Living Centers, which are structured sober transitional houses in Jonesboro where residents can stay up to six months, with extensions considered case by case.
