About Crossroads
Crossroads in Scarborough, Maine, also known as Crossroads for Women, is a gender-responsive treatment provider that has helped women recover from addiction in Maine since 1974. They treat substance use alongside co-occurring mental health conditions and eating disorders, working from the view that these problems usually show up together and heal best when addressed as a whole. Their continuum runs from residential care through partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP), with medication-assisted treatment available for opioid and alcohol use disorders. They are CARF accredited and accept many insurance plans, including MaineCare.
The Back Cove Women’s Residential Program uses a relational, trauma-informed model in a home-like setting with round-the-clock clinical support and holistic therapies. Their Children and Mothers Program (CAMP) is the only licensed residential program in Maine for pregnant and parenting women, offering on-site childcare and parenting education so mothers can keep their children with them during treatment. PHP provides full-day programming five days a week with evenings at home, while the women-only IOP in Scarborough meets three to five days a week for three-hour sessions covering early recovery, relapse prevention, co-occurring issues, family education, and 12-Step involvement. They also offer individual, couples, and family counseling, a ten-bed eating disorder program, and state-certified Driver Education and Evaluation Program (DEEP) services for people facing an OUI.
