Counseling Center of Illinois is an outpatient counseling provider serving the Chicagoland area. They focus on helping people navigate the legal and licensing side of substance use, including DUI evaluations for court cases (out-of-state cases included) and Illinois Secretary of State license reinstatement. They are licensed by the state to provide the DUI evaluations and classes required after a conviction. Depending on assessed risk, clients are placed in anything from a minimum 10-hour DUI risk education course to early intervention and substance abuse treatment for moderate- to high-risk cases.

For commercial drivers and other workers in safety-sensitive jobs, they offer Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluations, which can be completed remotely by phone or live video. This return-to-duty process involves a face-to-face clinical assessment that reviews drug and alcohol history, mental health, family background, and physical health, followed by recommendations for education, treatment, or aftercare. A follow-up evaluation and an individualized testing plan help confirm the person is ready to return to work. Many of their programs can be completed online with approval from the courts, the Secretary of State, and IDHS, and they also run anger management, domestic violence, parenting, and mental health groups, along with hardship evaluations.
