About Cornerstone of Recovery
Cornerstone of Recovery is an addiction treatment center on a 24-acre campus in Louisville, Tennessee, just south of Knoxville, and they have been treating alcohol and drug addiction in the Tennessee Valley since 1989. Many staff members have their own recovery stories, and they pair that lived experience with evidence-based care and a strong 12-Step foundation. They treat substance use disorders involving alcohol, opioids, and fentanyl, and they also address co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD, though addiction must be the primary diagnosis. Their levels of care include medical detox, residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient, and ongoing outpatient therapy, with medication-assisted treatment available throughout.
Residential patients start with full medical and mental health assessments and then join one of two tracks: Newcomers for those entering treatment for the first time, or Recovery Renewal for people returning after relapse, which leans on Schema Therapy and deeper 12-Step work. Clinical approaches include CBT, DBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and Acceptance and Integration Therapy, along with family therapy and experiential options like ropes courses, yoga, art, and music. They run specialty tracks for healthcare professionals, aviation and railroad workers, legal and business professionals, young adults, and veterans and first responders through their Hero’s Path program, and some of these tracks help with licensing and return-to-work requirements. Their PHP runs six to eight hours a day, typically five days a week, while IOP offers morning, midday, and evening sessions or telehealth, and an alumni community, recovery coaching, and family support groups continue after treatment ends.
