About Compass Recovery LLC
Compass Recovery is an outpatient addiction treatment program in Hatfield, Massachusetts, and the second location of a western Massachusetts provider whose original site is in Agawam. They are owned and run by local people who have been through addiction themselves. Their approach centers on accountability and on rebuilding a meaningful life, not just stopping use. They treat alcohol, opioid, and other substance use disorders through day treatment at two intensities: a partial hospitalization program (ASAM Level 2.5) and an intensive outpatient program (ASAM Level 2.1). Because their care is outpatient, they are best suited to people who have a stable place to live and don’t need medical detox or round-the-clock supervision.
The partial hospitalization track meets at least six hours a day, five days a week, and gives people a structured alternative to residential rehab while they return home or to sober living each night. The intensive outpatient track runs about nine hours a week, can be scheduled during the day or evening, and is intended for people with milder addiction or those getting back on track after a relapse. Both tracks combine individual counseling and group therapy with cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing. They also use 12-step facilitation and holistic practices such as yoga, sound healing, reiki, meditation, and mindfulness. Counselors help each client build an aftercare plan, which can include 12-step meetings, ongoing counseling, and sober living, to support recovery after the program ends.
