About Community Care Alliance
Community Care Alliance is a nonprofit human services agency in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and is designated as both a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic and a licensed community mental health center. They help people facing mental health conditions and addiction, and they also address related struggles such as trauma, unstable housing, food insecurity, unemployment, and family challenges. Their approach rests on the idea that recovery is easier when people have a safe place to live, enough to eat, steady income, and supportive relationships. For substance use and mental health, care includes outpatient services, intensive outpatient programs, emergency services, and community support and recovery services, with separate options for children and adults.
Clients work with clinicians to shape their own treatment plans, and therapeutic activities such as a community garden and a writer’s group are part of the experience. Walk-in intake assessments are available on weekdays without an appointment, and the agency also connects people in crisis to the BH Link triage center and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Because of their clinic certification, they serve anyone seeking mental health or substance use care regardless of age, residence, or ability to pay, and insurance is not required. They accept Medicaid and several commercial plans, offer a sliding fee scale and help applying for financial assistance, and have a dedicated coordinator for veterans.
