About Communicare
Communicare is a community mental health center that has served North Central Mississippi since 1969, including Marshall County, where Holly Springs is located. Alongside mental health counseling, primary care, developmental disability services, and 24-hour crisis support, they offer substance use treatment for children, teens, and adults. Care includes assessments, outpatient treatment, and recovery support, with Mississippi Department of Mental Health–certified options for people facing both addiction and mental health conditions. Adults who need more structure can enter Haven House, their 48-bed residential program in Oxford, which has operated since 1978.
Outpatient clients take part in individual and group counseling, and families can get support of their own. Therapists draw on motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy, as well as trauma-focused approaches such as cognitive processing therapy, accelerated resolution therapy, and EMDR, which may also help some people manage cravings. Telehealth visits are available for many services. Cost is meant to stay manageable: Communicare accepts Medicaid, Medicare, VA coverage, and most major private insurers, offers a sliding fee scale to uninsured people below 200% of the poverty level, and won’t turn anyone away because they can’t pay.
