About Commitment House
The Commitment House is an addiction treatment center in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, serving adults from Hardin County and the wider Kentucky and Indiana region. They work with people facing alcoholism and polysubstance use, including those with co-occurring medical or mental health conditions, and they aim for care that is person-centered, trauma-informed, and free of judgment. Each client’s individualized care plan serves as the backbone of treatment. Their continuum runs from medically supported detox and residential treatment through transitional residential care, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient programming.
Care begins with withdrawal management and comfort medications, followed by a 28 to 30 day residential stay focused on understanding addiction and building recovery skills. Clients then step down to roughly four weeks of transitional residential care, which offers 24-hour support, clinical groups five days a week, and participation in 12-step meetings as they begin reconnecting with daily life. From there, clients live in supervised sober housing while moving through PHP, with five-hour groups five days a week for four to six weeks, and then eight weeks of IOP, which adds access to an individual therapist. The final outpatient phase uses a weekly three-hour group to prepare a discharge plan and independent living, with peer support and case management continuing throughout, and they accept most insurance while also offering self-pay options and help enrolling in coverage.
