Colorado West Regional Mental Health Center, now operating as Health Solutions West, is a community behavioral health provider with an office in Glenwood Springs and a network of sites covering ten counties across Colorado’s Western Slope. They treat mental illness and substance use disorders together, using a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach for clients of all ages. Their care ranges from outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient programming, and medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder to medically monitored withdrawal management and residential treatment. New clients can walk in on weekdays for a same-day assessment without an appointment, and they accept Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance, offer sliding-scale fees, and serve people regardless of their ability to pay.

For people who need a higher level of care, they run two dual-diagnosis residential programs in Grand Junction: the Circle Program for men and the Women’s Recovery Center for women. Both offer medical residential, intensive residential, and transitional housing, and parents can bring their children, stay in family bedrooms, and join family groups and visits. Residential clients work through cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational enhancement therapy, along with music and art therapy and intensive case management. Outpatient clients can join substance use group therapy, DBT skills groups, and Seeking Safety trauma programming, and they can also tap into peer support, supported employment, recovery court in certain counties, and contingency management at select sites.
