CODAC Health, Recovery & Wellness is a Tucson organization that brings substance use treatment, mental health care, and primary care together under one roof for adults 18 and older. Their whole-person model treats addiction to any drug or alcohol, including fentanyl, heroin, meth, and cocaine, with plans built around each member’s own goals and staff who often have lived experience of recovery. Care is outpatient, with standard outpatient services, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and walk-in intake is available around the clock, every day of the year. They don’t provide detox or residential substance use care, but they do assess whether someone needs it and arrange a direct handoff to a partner program.

Their opioid program uses methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, and naltrexone, and offers a methadone taper of up to 180 days or longer-term maintenance paired with counseling, relapse prevention, and harm reduction. They also have specific options for pregnant and postpartum women, and medication is never required, since some members build their recovery on therapy, groups, and peer support instead. The IOP runs at least nine hours a week using the Matrix Model and Helping Women Recover, along with cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma work, and family education, and it offers free on-site childcare, parenting classes, and help meeting court, probation, and DCS requirements. Members can also draw on peer support specialists, case managers who help with housing, transportation, and paperwork, more than 60 groups and classes, employment support, and assistance applying for AHCCCS coverage.
