CODAC Behavioral Healthcare is a nonprofit outpatient addiction treatment provider based in Providence, Rhode Island, with opioid treatment programs in communities across the state. They have served Rhode Islanders since 1971, were among the first nonprofits in the country to offer methadone treatment, and now focus on substance use disorders, especially opioid use disorder, alongside mental health, gambling, and tobacco concerns. Care is offered through medication-assisted treatment, general outpatient counseling, and an intensive outpatient program that runs about four to six weeks with at least nine hours of individual and group sessions each week. They offer walk-in admission on request and 24-hour access seven days a week, and new patients leave with medication to carry them to their next appointment.

Their medication options cover all FDA-approved treatments for opioid use disorder, including methadone, buprenorphine (Suboxone), extended-release buprenorphine injections, oral naltrexone, and injectable naltrexone (Vivitrol), always paired with supportive counseling and behavioral therapy. Treatment plans are built around each person’s strengths and preferences, and families are encouraged to take part in recovery, with acu-detox ear acupuncture and therapeutic massage also available. Every patient is screened for gambling problems, and those who need help can see on-site counselors through a statewide program that fully covers treatment for people who are uninsured or underinsured. Their Royal Little location in Providence adds primary care, psychiatry, dentistry, maternal health, and an on-site pharmacy, and mobile medical units and correctional facility programs extend services to people who might otherwise go without care.
