About CODA Inc
CODA, Inc. runs the Seaside Recovery Center on the Oregon coast, an outpatient opioid treatment program for people addicted to heroin, morphine, or prescription painkillers such as oxycodone and hydrocodone. Founded in 1969, CODA is one of Oregon’s largest nonprofit substance use treatment providers and the state’s oldest opioid addiction treatment program. Their approach pairs medication with counseling and practical support, aiming to ease withdrawal and cravings so people can focus on rebuilding their lives and relationships. The Seaside clinic provides methadone and buprenorphine services, and CODA’s broader network includes withdrawal management, residential, and outpatient care at other Oregon locations.
At Seaside, care starts with a meeting with a counselor, often followed by a same-day visit with a medical provider who helps choose the right medication. Weekday walk-in screenings are available, though same-day dosing can’t always be guaranteed. Alongside medication, patients receive individual and group counseling, patient education, case management, urine drug screening, and acupuncture, and there are specialized services for pregnant women. The program teaches relapse prevention, trigger awareness, and stress management, and invites family members and community partners such as probation or child welfare to take part in education and continuity of care.
