About CODA Inc
CODA, Inc. is a nonprofit substance use treatment organization founded in 1969 and based in the Portland, Oregon area, where they run the state’s oldest opioid addiction treatment program. They operate 14 programs across ten sites, offering a full continuum of care that includes withdrawal management, gender-specific residential treatment, opioid treatment, outpatient services, supported housing, and sobering services. In Portland, their Recovery Center in close-in East Portland provides opioid treatment with walk-in assessments, and their Stepping Stones program offers supported housing. Their care centers on evidence-based treatment, rebuilding relationships, and helping people move gradually back into their communities.
At the Portland Recovery Center, patients with addiction to heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and other opioids can receive methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone, oral naltrexone, or extended-release naltrexone, often on the same day as their first medical visit. That medication care is paired with individual and group counseling, relapse prevention and coping skills work, case management, acupuncture, and specialty services for pregnant women. Residential stays at their Beaverton, Gresham, and Tigard centers average about 90 days, and the Gresham program allows children to live on site with mothers who are pregnant, parenting, or involved with child welfare or the justice system. Their outpatient clinics in Clackamas, Hillsboro, and Tigard offer counseling, medication for opioid and alcohol use disorders, DUII treatment, and specialized tracks for people involved with the courts or child welfare, and all services can also be delivered through virtual care.
