Clear Conscience Counseling is a licensed behavioral health and counseling practice in South Plainfield, New Jersey, founded by Dr. John Gore, Ed.D, LPC, LCADC. They work with people facing substance use and co-occurring disorders, as well as anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and family difficulties, using evidence-based therapy delivered in a calm, judgment-free setting. Their levels of care include standard outpatient counseling and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), with in-person visits for adults at their South Plainfield office and telehealth available across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Care is offered in eight languages, and they accept Medicaid, United, Horizon, Aetna, and AmeriChoice, along with private pay and sliding-scale fees.

The IOP suits people who need more support than a weekly session but don’t require round-the-clock care, including those stepping down from residential rehab. It begins with a thorough assessment and an individualized treatment plan, then combines individual therapy, group support, and skill building several times a week, so clients can keep working, attending school, and living at home. As clients stabilize, the intensity is gradually reduced and they transition into ongoing outpatient care with an aftercare plan, and family involvement is encouraged throughout. Beyond the IOP, they offer trauma-focused EMDR, couples therapy, and family therapy rooted in family-systems approaches, and teens ages 12 and up can receive care by telehealth.
