About Christian Community Health Center
Christian Community Health Center is a faith-based, nonprofit federally qualified health center with a clinic in Calumet City, Illinois, one of four locations serving Chicago and the south suburbs. Founded in 1991, they combine primary medical, dental, and behavioral health care with a wide range of social services, guided by a Christian mission of serving everyone regardless of ability to pay. They are state-licensed to provide Level I and Level II outpatient substance use disorder treatment for both adolescents and adults.
Their recovery treatment is personalized and has included medication-assisted treatment since 2017, offered alongside counseling and behavioral health services within the same health system. Because care is integrated, people in recovery can also receive primary care, HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention, hepatitis care, and pharmacy services through a partner pharmacy. Practical support extends to help with housing, transportation, and insurance enrollment, as well as free legal consultations through a medical-legal partnership. A sliding fee discount is available for people who are uninsured, face high deductibles or co-pays, or otherwise can’t afford care.
