About Choose Again
Choose Again is a Vancouver-based self-awareness and counselling program, founded in 2006 by Diederik Wolsak, that helps people work through depression, anxiety, stress, addictive behaviour, and difficult relationship patterns. Their approach centers on the Six Steps to Freedom, a forgiveness-based process Wolsak developed to uncover and release negative core beliefs formed in childhood, which they see as the root of persistent emotional suffering. Wolsak draws on his own long history with alcohol and drug abuse, and the program emphasizes personal accountability over blame. Care is offered through a residential intensive in Costa Rica, private online counselling, and ongoing group circles.
Their flagship 100 Days to Freedom program begins with a one-week stay at their Costa Rica center, where groups of no more than 12 participants attend daily therapeutic sessions built around the Six Steps, along with yoga, mindfulness, and holotropic breathwork. After returning home, participants continue with a three-month online practice and integration program, plus aftercare support. The work is grounded in universal spiritual teachings, drawing on writers such as Rumi, Ramana Maharshi, Gerald Jampolsky, and Eckhart Tolle, and it aims to make clients independent of a therapist over time. For ongoing support, they also run a sliding-scale live online circle with Wolsak, an A Course in Miracles group, and a self-guided online course in the Six Steps.
