About Chicanos Por La Causa Inc
Chicanos Por La Causa is a Phoenix-based community nonprofit whose substance use treatment program, CPLC Corazón, has served adults since 1983. Corazón is a client-centered program with bilingual staff and a welcoming attitude toward all cultures. Their core service is a CARF-accredited Level II residential program lasting 30 to 60 days in a 65-bed, ADA-compliant facility. They also offer outpatient substance use services at their Maryvale Community Service Center and transitional housing for people completing residential care.
In residential treatment, clients take part in group, individual, family, and couples therapy, and community 12-step meetings are held every night. Holistic practices such as yoga, tai chi, chi gong, and sweat lodge round out the clinical work, and people already taking methadone or Suboxone can continue that medication while in treatment. Graduates of the residential program may move into Grace House for up to six months, where they can look for work, continue outpatient counseling and case management, and build toward independent living. Substance Abuse Block Grant funding is available for residential services, which can help people with limited means get care.
