About Cherokee County Commission on
Cherokee County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (CCCADA) is a private, nonprofit agency in Gaffney, South Carolina, and serves as the county’s designated substance use authority for education, prevention, and outpatient treatment. They work with individuals and families affected by alcohol and drug use, as well as people struggling with problem gambling, and they accept clients regardless of which county they live in. Outpatient care is offered in three tiers: Intensive Recovery, with three groups a week plus regular counseling and peer support; Moderate Support, with two weekly groups and added individual and peer services as needed; and Advanced Recovery, which focuses on ongoing support for long-term stability. Walk-in appointments are available on Monday mornings for anyone ready to get started.
For opioid use disorder, CCCADA partners with Medasic and Prescription Plus to provide medication-assisted treatment with Suboxone and other medications, paired with therapy, recovery support, and medical coordination. They also run South Carolina’s Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP), which people convicted of DUI, BUI, ALR, or Zero Tolerance offenses must complete before their license can be reinstated, covering assessment, education, intervention, and treatment. Confidential youth services help adolescents build coping skills, healthy decision-making, and stronger family connections, while the prevention team works in local schools and communities. Additional offerings include instant and lab-confirmed urine drug screens, anger management classes, and a Domestic Violence Alternative Program focused on relationship skills and personal accountability.
