About Center for Family Development

Center for Family Development (CFD) is an outpatient mental health and substance use treatment provider in Eugene, Oregon, serving adults, adolescents, children, and families. They take a strength-based approach that looks at each person alongside their family and community relationships, and they draw on a range of therapeutic models rather than a single method. Care for substance use is delivered on an outpatient basis, with medication assisted treatment available for opioid and alcohol use disorders. Services are covered by OHP and several private insurers, and they also offer self-pay and possible financial support for those who qualify.

Their Adult Recovery Program begins with an ASAM drug and alcohol assessment and includes individual, group, and family therapy, co-occurring disorder care, recovery skills training, relapse prevention planning, peer support, and continuing care. For opioid and alcohol use disorders, they prescribe Suboxone (buprenorphine) and Vivitrol (naltrexone), though not methadone, and therapists coordinate with psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners for clients already engaged in therapy. The Youth Recovery Program pairs teens with certified alcohol and drug counselors for individual and family therapy, behavioral skill building, substance education, and parenting classes focused on high-risk behavior. Both programs use drug screening and work with legal systems, and the youth program also coordinates with schools.
