Cenikor Foundation in Farmington, New Mexico, is the New Mexico location of a nonprofit behavioral health organization that has served Texas and New Mexico for nearly 60 years. The Farmington program provides medically supervised detox and inpatient treatment for adults, with psychiatric and primary medical care built into the program, which makes it a good option for people with complex or co-occurring health needs. Cenikor began as a therapeutic community, and many of their staff are in recovery themselves. Their stated aim is to treat people other programs might turn away, and to keep care affordable by accepting more than 30 insurance carriers as well as New Mexico Medicaid.

During detox, licensed nurses monitor patients around the clock. They use standardized withdrawal scales, such as CIWA-Ar for alcohol and COWS for opioids, to track symptoms and step in early when complications arise.
