About Casa Esperanza Inc

Casa Esperanza is a nonprofit behavioral health organization based in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston that has served Massachusetts’ Latine communities for decades, offering a bilingual Spanish and English continuum of addiction and mental health care. They treat substance use disorders alongside co-occurring mental illness, trauma, and chronic medical conditions, and they also help people facing homelessness. Their care includes medically monitored detox, clinical stabilization, long-term men’s residential treatment, a structured outpatient addiction program, and peer recovery support. Through their integrated CasaCare Model, behavioral health and primary care are coordinated in one place, and they will not turn anyone away for inability to pay.

Their Conexiones program, located in Tewksbury, combines withdrawal management and clinical stabilization (ASAM levels 3.7 and 3.5) in a single unit for Massachusetts adults, with typical stays of 5–7 days for detox and 14–21 days for stabilization. That program offers 24/7 nursing, medications for opioid use disorder, psychopharmacology, evidence-based individual and group counseling, case management, and aftercare planning. The free Casa Men’s Program is a 6–9 month trauma-informed recovery home for men who may also be dealing with unstable housing, recent incarceration, serious mental illness, or HIV, and it teaches skills such as conflict resolution and critical thinking alongside medication management, tobacco cessation, and parenting and family reunification support. For ongoing recovery, the free Mi Camino peer program provides recovery coaching, navigation, leadership development, transportation, and sober cultural and social events.
