About Casa De Los Ninos
Casa de los Niños is a Tucson nonprofit that has supported Southern Arizona children and families since 1973 through behavioral health care, foster care and adoption, early education, and parenting support. Their focus is on prevention and early intervention, addressing problems like trauma, abuse, neglect, and mental health struggles that can destabilize a family. Outpatient behavioral health services are available to children, teens, and adults, delivered in person or by telehealth. They accept AHCCCS, KidsCare, Mercy Care DCS CHP, and CHIP, and families without coverage can apply for a sliding fee scale based on household size and income.
Their clinical team provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management, evidence-based individual and family therapy, case management with skills training in homes, schools, and the community, and family support and advocacy. Structured groups cover social-emotional learning, parenting, trauma-informed care, and the needs of transition-aged youth preparing for adulthood. Specialized tracks include play therapy, birth-to-five services that strengthen bonds between young children and caregivers, and school-based therapy in more than 25 Tucson schools across the Flowing Wells, Sunnyside, and TUSD districts. Foster and kinship families can tap into these in-house services, along with bilingual English and Spanish staff, monthly in-home case management, and around-the-clock on-call support.
