About CaringWorks Inc
CaringWorks is a Decatur, Georgia–based agency working to end homelessness across metro Atlanta by pairing housing with mental health care, addiction treatment, and employment support. Their view is that lasting recovery and a stable home go hand in hand, so treatment is built into a broader system of housing and case management. They offer residential treatment with aftercare at Hope House, a CARF-accredited, 70-bed facility in downtown Atlanta for adult men who are homeless, along with outpatient behavioral health services. Care addresses substance use and co-occurring conditions such as PTSD, HIV/AIDS, and mental illness, and the program also serves men who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Men at Hope House can stay for up to two years, receiving individual and group addiction counseling, nursing assessments, medication management, nutrition education, job preparation, and three meals a day in a structured setting. To qualify, men must be over 18, currently homeless, and in need of substance use or mental health treatment, and staff will help gather required documents like medical clearance and TB testing if someone doesn’t have them. The outpatient program, a Tier II CORE provider, offers individual, group, family, and couples counseling, along with psychiatric services, PTSD treatment, grief counseling, crisis and anger management, and support from peer specialists. Outpatient care is open to Medicaid members, residents of CaringWorks supportive housing, and people referred by partner agencies.
