About Camden Treatment Associates
Camden Treatment Associates is a CARF-accredited outpatient opioid treatment program in Camden, New Jersey, pairing methadone maintenance with group and individual drug counseling for people struggling with opiate dependence. Founded in 2001 and licensed by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, they blend medical, behavioral, and social support. They see abstinence as the safest goal but recognize that people who aren’t ready to stop using can still benefit from care. After an intake assessment, clients are placed in standard outpatient methadone maintenance, an intensive outpatient program, or partial care, and they can shift between levels as their needs change.
Every level follows a 90-day curriculum that explains addiction as a disease and the biology behind cravings, with weekly counseling hours increasing alongside intensity. Standard outpatient fits people balancing work or family obligations, while IOP adds three three-hour groups a week plus individual sessions for those who have relapsed or had positive drug screens. Partial care offers the most structure, with 20 hours of therapy spread across four days each week, and some groups and counseling can be attended remotely. Eligible patients may qualify for every-other-day dosing, case managers help connect clients with housing, employment, food, medical care, and disability services, and staff provide on-site TB, STD, and pregnancy screening along with prenatal counseling.
