Bryan’s House Recovery Home, Inc. is a residential addiction treatment program in Atascadero, California, built specifically for pregnant and parenting women who can bring their young children with them. Licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services and Drug Medi-Cal certified, they serve pregnant and postpartum women, mothers with at least one dependent child age five or younger, and women working to regain custody of their kids. The program was founded by Sandy and Steve Wortley after they lost their son Bryan, a husband and father, to addiction. That loss shapes their focus on helping mothers build a sober life so their children don’t lose a parent the same way.

Care combines individual counseling and therapy, family therapy, group counseling, and educational sessions, with dedicated parenting groups aimed at preparing women for the demands of raising children in recovery. Each resident receives treatment planning, case management, and crisis intervention, along with practical support in financial responsibility and everyday life skills. Discharge planning helps women line up what comes next, and referrals can connect them with education, employment coaching, volunteer work, recovery and support group meetings, and social activities in the community.
