About Bridging the Gaps Inc
Bridging the Gaps is a CARF-accredited, 24-bed addiction treatment center in Winchester, Virginia, serving adults recovering from drug and alcohol addiction in the Shenandoah Valley. Their approach pairs traditional psycho-social-spiritual treatment with complementary therapies aimed at physical healing, built on an abstinence model that also works to rebalance brain chemistry disrupted by substance use. Care follows a structured four-month continuum that starts with residential treatment, steps down to partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care, and continues with optional weekly aftercare. Residential care is geared toward people with severe addiction, co-occurring disorders, or a history of repeated relapse.
Clinically, they offer trauma-informed therapy that draws on CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and the 12-step tradition, delivered through individual counseling, family sessions, group psychotherapy, and group education. Holistic services are woven throughout, including amino acid and nutritional therapy, acupuncture detoxification, reiki, yoga, meditation, and fitness. Residential clients live in shared homes and commute each day to a clinical building, a setup meant to mimic everyday routines, while PHP clients attend full weekday programming and stay in staffed sober living with breathalyzer and urine screening. Private pay clients who complete the full residential, PHP, and IOP sequence receive up to 21 days of additional treatment at no cost if they relapse within 90 days of discharge.
