Bowen Health, formerly known as Bowen Center, is a community healthcare organization serving Pierceton and 21 other counties across northeast and north central Indiana, with addiction recovery offered alongside primary care, mental health, and dental services. They focus on treating the whole person, mind and body, and see themselves as a safety net for people who have nowhere else to turn. They accept Medicaid, and no one is turned away because they can’t pay. Their addiction services address opioid addiction, alcohol dependence, smoking, compulsive gambling, sexual addiction, and eating disorders, with care that can include detoxification, hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment.
Treatment plans are built around each person and may combine medication-assisted treatment with individual counseling, group therapy, and family education and support. They also run programs specifically for teens, which can help families looking for care for a younger loved one. Because their services sit under one roof, people in recovery can also get primary care, mental health treatment, life skills coaching, and transitional living support through the same organization. For urgent situations, they maintain a 24-hour crisis line, crisis receiving and stabilization services, and inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
