About Bowen Health

Bowen Health, formerly known as Bowen Center, is a community healthcare organization serving Fort Wayne and 22 counties across northeast and north central Indiana, with addiction recovery offered alongside primary care, mental health care, and dentistry. Their approach centers on treating the whole person, mind and body, so that people can address substance use, emotional health, and physical health in one place. They work with individuals and families affected by opioid addiction and alcohol dependence, as well as smoking, compulsive gambling, sexual addiction, and eating disorders. Levels of care include detoxification, hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment.

Each person receives a personalized care plan, which can combine medication-assisted treatment with individual counseling, group therapy, and family education and support. Teens have dedicated programming, which can help families looking for age-appropriate care. For people in urgent need, Bowen Health runs a 24-hour crisis line, accepts walk-ins during a crisis, and offers crisis receiving and stabilization, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, and transitional living. As a safety net provider, they accept Medicaid and do not turn anyone away because they can’t pay.
